Rieschel Family Scholarship for Science and Technology

To encourage skill-development and leadership in the pursuit of STEM fields among college-bound students in the Big Sky and Gallatin Valley area, the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation is proud to award the Rieschel Family Scholarship for Science and Technology.

The $5,000 Rieschel Family Scholarship is awarded each spring to one local high school senior.

Skills in STEM fields – science, technology, engineering, and math – are in high demand to meet the demands of the 21st century.

“We want to identify and encourage the passions of high school students in STEM fields,” said Yucca Rieschel, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. “We are looking for innovative minds, creative minds, minds that inspire others, students who want to give back to their community.”

“These students can be anything from computer whizzes who trouble-shoot networks for local nonprofits to budding environmental scientists who spend their weekends repairing trails,” Rieschel added. “We are looking for bright students who want to broaden these skills into careers and lasting community impact.”

Award: $5,000 deposited directly to awardee’s enrolled post-secondary program. Alternatively, a percentage may be applied toward the purchase of new equipment with preapproval and receipt provided to the Foundation

Candidates: High school seniors attending Lone Peak High School, Bozeman High School, Bridger Alternative Program, Belgrade High School, Gallatin Valley private schools, or equivalent homeschool programs

Criteria: This annual scholarship from the Rieschel family is awarded to a senior demonstrating dedication and commitment to the greater Gallatin Valley community in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Volunteerism/internships in the field required. This scholarship is merit and passion based
