About the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation

Since 2010, the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation has partnered with nonprofits in the greater Big Sky region through grantmaking and capacity building to address critical needs across five impact areas: Livability, Health & Wellness, Environment, Arts & Culture, and Education. The Foundation has grown from a part-time and volunteer staff to a team of 7 full-time staff and has made investments totaling more than $30 million in our communities across several initiatives and programs.

Who does the Foundation grant funds to in the community?

‍The Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations and qualifying government entities such as schools and libraries that serve communities in the greater Big Sky region, within Gallatin and Madison Counties where the Big Sky workforce resides. All applicants must be invited by the Foundation to apply for funding. For organizations without an invitation to apply for a Community Grant, the Foundation welcomes Letters of Interest (LOI). An LOI submission may result in an invitation to one of the Foundation’s grants.

What are the funding impact areas?

The Yellowstone Club Community Foundation prioritizes giving within its five Impact areas.

Livability: Uplifting individuals and families through partnerships that address affordable housing, childcare, food security and transportation.
Health & Wellness: Collectively cultivating a healthy community by funding physical and behavioral health services, robust recreational opportunities, and reduced cost barriers to care.
Environment: Supporting partners whose work is to protect this wild and wonderful place and its wildlife and natural resources now and for generations to come.
Arts & Culture: Investing in programs promoting arts and culture for individuals to create, connect, and cultivate a sense of pride and belonging.
Education: Prioritizing safe, accessible, high quality and diverse lifelong learning for all Big Sky community members and visitors, from infancy to adulthood.

How do I apply for employee assistance for myself or a colleague?

Please have your Director or VP of your department send the assistance request to VP of Philanthropy, Ciara Wolfe by emailing her at ciara.wolfe@yellowstoneclub.com. All requests are reviewed by a small committee and voted on. Ciara will share the verdict and amount of support awarded with the Director or VP who sent the request. Please allow up to a week for review and awarding of funds.

What mental health or behavioral health resources are available to myself or my colleagues?

Wellness in Action: Wellness In Action (WIA) was founded in 2005 by residents concerned that not all families had access to enrichment activities and human services. In the nearly 20 years we have been in operation, our vision has evolved to ensure all have the support they need to reach their full potential and thrive. WIA currently provides a robust counseling program offering a sliding scale payment system determined by income and household size, a dedicated community health worker to help bridge the gap to services, and scholarship opportunities for enrichment programs. Be Well Big Sky: Be Well Big Sky uplifts and supports the well-being of our community through grassroots peer-to-peer solutions that integrate with the existing care system. How do nonprofit organizations apply for a grant through YCCF?

All applicants must be invited by Foundation staff to apply for Foundation grants.
Invitations for selected grantee partner organizations will be issued February 10.
The LOI process will open February 10 to February 28 for all organizations interested in applying for a grant and that did not receive a direct invitation.
Letters of Inquiry may be submitted by clicking on the link provided on the Foundation’s website.
The Foundation’s 2025 Spring grant application portal will be open March 1 to March 31 for all invited applicants.
Invited applicants must create an account with the grant management software, Submittable.

What is a Letter of Interest?

The LOI helps to determine whether organizations and proposed projects are eligible for Foundation grant funding. They also help staff direct invitations to selected eligible organizations to apply for one of the four Community Grants that best meets proposal objectives and Foundation funding goals. Further, an LOI process allows new and existing community organizations to share new ideas!

I would like to apply for a sponsorship on behalf of an organization that I am involved with. How do I do that?
