Big Sky affordable housing effort hits another roadblock

The organization leading the affordable housing effort in Big Sky has given up $1 million in resort tax appropriations, throwing another wrench in its plan to develop 32 housing units on donated land.

The Big Sky Community Housing Trust announced Wednesday that it would be withdrawing its rollover application for the funds, which it was awarded in 2016 for work on the 32-unit project. The Big Sky Resort Tax board, which each June allocates annual resort tax collections, typically requires organizations to use the earmarked funds within a year or request a rollover.
